My passion for photography is driven by my lifelong interest in arts and poetry. Ever since I was a 10-year old I was fascinated by the optical effects of the lens, and the ability to create images using time and light as input. I started shooting then with my father's camera before I received a fully manual waist-level finder camera. The practice, learning, and digging into photography books and magazines began. Three years later, a gift from my aunt helped me purchase a Canon AE-1 and the love and learning continued. Throughout my high school years, I started my in-house black-&-white darkroom lab, and was published while working as a freelance photojournalist. As a student activist, my reportage covered issues ranging from child labor to human rights.
During years that followed, while photography remained a strong hobby, my college education in Europe and the US focused on engineering and computer science. After working as a consultant, programmer, and Web designer for some time, I finally decided to dedicate full time to my lifelong passion for photography.
As software applications have replaced the darkroom lab, I find digital imaging techniques a vital tool for today's photographers. In this process, my other training contributes well to my photographs.
